Brown Veined White Butterfly (Belenois aurota)

Brown Veined White Butterfly (Belenois aurota)

Photo 2 the 2016 Collection

As a great many living on the South African highveld (or high plateau), I often move to my patio to enjoy the fresh air.
My house is located in the south part of Johannesburg near a natural reserve and that means there is a buzzing wildlife around me.
I see from the 2 legged to the 8, from insects to reptiles going past birds and mammals, all day long every day.
There are no large predators, I live in a built up area after all, but buzzing never the less.
I will be posting some of these creatures in a new category “From my Garden
Today’s is the commonly seen “brown veined white butterfly” (Belenois aurota).

Fishes of Saint-Gilles

Photo 62 of 356 of the 2015 Collection
These are fresh out of the water, there was a whole school of them trapped in the port, this attracted fishermen.
They would have been served that evening for dinner.

Creatures found on beaches

Creatures found on beaches

Photo 6 of 356 of the 2015 Collection

Randomly chosen by Loraine Botha from my Blue collection (Unedited and Unpublished).
Long story short, I posted a request on Facebook to pick a number between 1 and 63, I had 63 photos queued for publishing in my Blue collection (Unedited and Unpublished) at the time. Various people answers and I will be posting the photos in order of picking by these people. I have encountered an issue though 63 was picked twice and then came 62 which at this time no longer exists, so I will take the last remaining photo in the collection for all 3.
This one was shot at a beach at Cape Point, I found these creatures interesting at the time.
