Desert of the Kalahari Redux

This is the last of 3 Monochrome Panoramic of the Kalahari Desert taken on the road back from Mata Mata.
You may have noticed that the camera has changed from a Canon EOS 300D to a 400D, we had an accident during that trip and both my Sigma 170-500mm and my 300D where damaged beyond repairs. We had to drive back to Upington where we where lucky to find a Canon EOS 400D so we could carry on for a further 4 days in the Kalahari.

Desert of the Kalahari

The Kalahari desert, not a sand desert, at least not all of it.
Proceeding never edited or published old photos is a lot of fun and frustrations, fun because I have learned so much in post-processing techniques, frustration because I see my mistakes.

Witsand

Witsand

Long before I was a serious photographer I started playing with concepts such as panoramic, they where rudimentary at best but some gave me some pride.
This was shot in my travels in the Northern Cape towards the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in a place called Witsand Nature Reserve. A place where one foot can be in the sand of a white desert and the other in the African bush.
